The Bloomfield Bicycle Company has been rolling along since the summer of 1989. We've had marvellous years and rides and this year doesn't look like it's going to be any different.

We're all excited about more titanium Litespeed road bikes, the upcoming Milford 200 Road Race, new trails and the IMBA EPIC at the Ganaraska Forest Centre, wwoofers in the garden and more warm showers list and couch surfer folks coming to visit on their bikes when it gets warm.

Until then we're hanging on the porch and dreaming about riding as you read this. Here's some of the folks you might run into here at the BBC in 2008!

Is we own ting

kt and rick: the empress-for-life and the emperor
We're aging teenagers with a passion for bikes that has encompassed all aspects of our lives ... our house, our yard, our kitchen, our careers, our vacations, our friends, our fashion choices, our music, our storytelling ... you name it. If we didn't do this bike shop thing we might have to get real jobs! We've been living here inside our bike shop for 18 years now, and we're pretty darned happy! Bikes have treated us well and we're always thankful for their company.

.

Erynn: our ringleader

She can be found leading chic rides, intermediate road rides, grilling staff on their product knowledge, sizing rental bikes, slaying dragons, explaining the fabulousness of women's saddles, figuring out what stuff to order for next week, polishing the demo fleet, plotting the perfect cycle touring routes, answering the phone, taming lions, reaching things on tall shelves for kt, explaining all the shop secrets to Adam and generally catching all things falling through cracks. Who are we kidding? She runs the show! Watch out for her her sweet, green Burley Fox Hollow road bike speeding past you on the roads of the County. If you're feelin' generous she could use a brownie from the carriage house or a coffee from Carruthers' when you come by. (cream no sugar)

peter (our monster)

Peter can be seen (but not often caught!) leading some of our Centuries and Thursday night Road Rides. Both he and Neil can get out there and motor! Peter knows the roads and the mileage in the County off by heart and is always looking for a nice LLLOOONNNNGGG road ride. He loves a good cup of coffee ... and he sort of works here when he can, but he's an important part of the team none-the-less.

Neil can be seen (but not often caught!) leading some of our Centuries and Thursday night Road Rides, as well as setting the pace at "almost uncatchable" on any Macaulay Ride you choose. He's been a trailbuilder extraordinaire in the Ganaraska Forest and both he and erynn have been driving forces at Macaulay Mountain as well.

neil (our local boy)

The Bike Club Gang
(ever so many more than you see)

Sometimes bike club members get so darned comfy on our porch that they fall asleep! No seriously, this fifteen-year-old just completed a metric century: which put his six day total at just over 300km.

300k+lunch+sunny porch = zzzzz

One of our favourite club members, Derek, the King of Cherry Valley and his Crown Prince, Jeremy. Check out Derek's "Fixaco" in the heart of Cherry Valley for good quality (ridiculously cheap) used bikes.

Being the luckiest bike shop in the world we have a great gang of club folk who are around in varying amounts during the season. You can usually catch some of them visiting on the porch or getting ready for a ride or tuning-up their bikes or reading back issues of magazines or giving someone route directions or picking weeds in the yard or whatever.
